The 2nd Gear Program Is Currently For The 6th, 7th, And 8th Grade Student Athletes, But Our Personal Training Is Open To Any Athlete Of Any Age Or Level Of Competition. The Goal For All Of Our Athletes Is To Have Them Physically And Mentally Above The Curve, Allowing Them To Excel Soon Rather Than Later, Maximizing Their Careers In The Sport Of Their Choice. With A Team First, Family Type Atmosphere, We Hope To Instill Great Character Values In All Of Our Athletes While Guiding Them In Their Athletic Futures.

Mental Game

A Majority Of The Youth And High School Programs Don't Have The Time, Coaching Staffs, And Player To Coach Ratios To Properly Teach Basic Football Concepts Such As Alignments, Coverage, Adjustments, And More. Our Goal For All Of Our Athletes Is To Have Them Mentally, And Physically Prepared To Play Varsity Football As A Freshman At The High School Of Their Choice.

Every Position Comes With A Curriculum Just Like A Specific Course In School. The Athletes In Our Academy Will Be Tested Every Other Week On A Different Portion Of Their Subject Both On The Field And On Paper. The Practical Exam On The Field Will Be Graded By The 2nd Gear Coaching Staff And Presented To The Athletes The Following Week.

In The Beginning We Understand That Many Of Our Athletes Will Be Nowhere Near Their Full Potential Physically So We Will Be Grading Them Based On Their Abilities To Remember, Execute Concepts, And Assignments. All Of This Information Will Be In The Athletes Assigned Playbook To Study At Home. We Will Be Looking For More Than Just Making Plays

With The Help Of The Old Dominion University Strength And Conditioning Staff We Will Been Able To Construct An Age Appropriate Strength Program To Create A Base For The Lifting Future Of All Of Our Academy Attendees.

In Our Program We Will Use An Array Of Equipment Such As Parachutes, Weight Vests, And Elastic Bands That Will Be Foreign To A Majority Of Our Attendees, But Will Allow Them To See Great Gains Over The Course Of The 12 Week Program.

The Collaboration Between The 2nd Gear Team And The Athlete's Parents Will Also Help Ensure That Physical Work Continues At Home Outside Of The Academy To Maximize The Full Potential Of All The Athletes!

Derived From Several Different And D2 College Programs, This Training Program Is Suitable For Athletes Of All Male And Female Field Sports! We Will Work On The Foundation Of Every Athletes Make Up, Perfecting Sprint Technique, Learning Balance And Body Control, And Even Work On Skill Specific Drills For Your Son Or Daughters Sport So Come Next Season They Can Become Dominant On The Playing Field. You Will Definitely See A Change In Any Young Athletes Abilities As Well As Bodies After Completing And Committing Themselves To The Program.

Our 7 On 7 Program Is Geared Towards Teaching Football Concepts, Working Basic, As Well As Advanced Football Techniques, While Guiding A Group Of Young Men To New Heights In Their Football Abilities. All Of Our Practices Are Done At A High Intensity, And Are Very Competitive. We Want The Best Live Atmosphere To Prepare For Tournaments. Our Teams Will Compete In Local And Out Of State Tournaments To Maximize Their Exposure For Recruiting, And Allow Them To Compete Against The Best Of The Best.
